Description

With nearly 80 percent of sudden cardiac arrests occurring outside the hospital, it is important that employers offer CPR and AED training for their employees to respond to a sudden cardiac arrest emergency.

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is a Blended Learning Course from American Heart Association that has two components:

  • An online portion and
  • A Classroom in-person Skills Practice and Testing Session

The course is designed to teach students the information needed for first aid, CPR, and AED training. In this course, students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock, and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches Adult CPR and AED use.

The course key to access the online portion is sent to the student one month prior to the instructor-led Classroom session. Upon completion of the online portion, students must complete a hands-on skills session at Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Medical Simulation Center.

The students will receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course completion card, which is internationally valid for 2 years.
